Abstract

This study aims to determine the strength of welded joints in the access walkway structure, with several types of welded joints on BJ SS400 low carbon steel material, carried out by using the shielded Metal Arch Welding, with LH-75 MR jetweld electrodes, AWS 5.5 classification and 3.2 mm diameter, the type of blunt weld connection and angle welding while to see the quality of the welded joints, DT testing (Destructive Test) and NDT (Non-Destructive Test) are carried out. Blunt weld and angle weld design using H.200x100x5.5x8 steel material obtained strong weld plan does not exceed the strength of the shear collapse. The total length of weld needed is still smaller than the results of the design as well as the size of the weld needed is still smaller than the size of the design
